This year’s Song Garden is a celebration of music event, showcasing stunning performances from:
Paul Howard & Jo Clack: Consummate performers of crafted song. Paul’s distinctive voice was described by Seasick Steve as ‘the vocal cords of soul’ and lauded by Steve Lamacq as his favourite singer. Paired with Jo Clack’s guitar and mandolin for forty years they have just released a new song ‘Freddie’s Blues’ tipping a hat to that old new town, that is Harlow.
Abela Brother: Are twin brothers Daniel and Matthew Abela. Writing and singing together since infancy, they began performing their songs at the age of 14. Lush, complex harmonies and playful arrangements.
Don’t Worry: Are Ronan and Sam, harmonic perfection wrapped in indie rock craft. They have two sharply written albums under their belt and a growing following. Expect an entrancing and mesmeric acoustic set delivered by Don’t Worry. Suitable for nervous sighthounds!
John Devine: Is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and Uilleann piper. John has collaborated with ‘Grunge Folk’ legend Wild Willy Barrett and recorded with the likes of guitar legend Gordon Giltrap, Tom Toomey (Zombies) and Jakko Jakszyk of King Crimson. He has recently been collaborating with Irish poet and playwright, Seamus O’Rourke. A top class musician of traditional Irish music and an unique exciting songwriter in his own right.
Roisin Quinn Band: Roisin is a UK independent artist who’s been featured on BBC 6 Music, and BBC Introducing not to mention the fact that her song Leave Us Hidden has been featured on the Emmy award nominated documentary The Nightcrawlers. A rich mix of harmony, melodic pull and deft lyrical insight delivered in a voice of true distinction. Roisin will be performing with her superb, full band line-up.
