At the beginning of this year we were wondering what the future of the Gibberd Garden would be as we were emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic. We were unable celebrate the Trust’s 25th Anniversary in June 2020 as we had hoped to, but in the 2022 season we have welcomed more visitors than ever and held the events our community enjoys and supports.
It has been 26 years since an appeal was launched to save the Gibberd Garden for the public rather than a private sale. The original appeal was successful, and the Trust was able to acquire the House and Garden with the help of many donations and the Heritage Lottery. We couldn’t celebrate properly with the magnificent band of volunteers that have helped to maintain the Garden over that time and ensuring it remained open for the public. We find now, in 2022 that the Trust must continue the appeal to secure the future of the Garden as the pandemic did not provide the best conditions for fundraising.
We desperately need your help to raise funds to replace the revenue lost in the pandemic period and ensure the Trust and Garden’s survival and are hoping that you might make a donation to the Gibberd Garden Trust.
Any amount that you are able to donate to our appeal will be gratefully received. Donations will help pay service charges, secure the wages of our gardeners and ensure the Gibberd Garden continues to survive, grow and thrive as Sir Frederick Gibberd intended – for public enjoyment and education.
