The Gibberd Garden Trust – A Charity Registered in the UK, Number 1053608, (“The Trust”) is responsible for the operation of this website and is the Data Controller.  Contact information is available on the Contact Page of the website. 

This Privacy Policy describes how The Trust protects and makes use of the information you give when you use this website. The website uses cookies. The Cookies Policy is on the Cookies Policy page.

If you are asked to provide information when using this website, it will only be used for the stated purposes.

What Data We Collect.

When you contact us through the website contact form your email address and other information you provide will be received and responded to by volunteers working for The Trust.  The information provided will be retained in the database but it is not available to third parties without your permission, and will never be sold.  We retain and use your information for the purpose of providing you with requested information or responding to your comments. 

If you wish to subscribe to a mailing list that provides regular updates about events and items of interest at the Gibberd Garden, please mention this in your contact message, which will be taken as your permission to forward the message to volunteers with The Friends of the Gibberd Garden (“The Friends”).  The subscriber email list is Operated by The Friends, a separate organization to The Trust that has a separate privacy policy.  We will forward your whole, unredacted message, including email address, to The Friends.

When you use our Shopping Service we will collect and store the following information:

  • Your name
  • Contact information:
    • phone numbers, email and postal addresses.
    • Billing and Delivery postal addresses may be stored.
  • Information you provide in notes.
  • Details of items you have purchased

The purpose for collecting and storing this information is to process the sale of items you request and deliver them to you. We are required to retain records of financial transactions for the period set by statute. You may establish an account with us to make future purchases quicker and easier, accessible by username and password.

We do not permanently record or hold the payment card data, required to complete sales transactions. The necessary data is encrypted and passed to our payment processing provider. This does not include information you provide that is not linked to your payment card. Card data is transient in our system and is not stored once a payment is validated by the processor.

Our payment processor is Stripe, which is the processor and data controller for payments.
